A New Twist on a Classic – The PRS Limited Edition 40th Anniversary Custom 24 Satin Electric Guitar in Charcoal Tri-Color Burst
The 40th Anniversary Custom 24 Satin Limited Edition celebrates fourdecades of PRS Guitars by bringing some new and noteworthy features tothe model that started it all. Limited to 500 pieces worldwide, this specialedition uniquely features a mango top, ebony fretboard, satin nitro finish,and smoked black hardware for a new twist on a classic.
Most notably, this limited edition exchanges the Custom 24s classic maplefor a striking figured mango top. Mango wood retains much of the soundcharacteristics as maple while bringing an almost quilted look to theseguitars. The satin nitro finish adds to the guitars unique aesthetic appeal bybringing a more natural vibe to the instrument along with great feel andresonant tone. The ebony fretboard and headstock veneer feature PRS OldSchool birds with outlines and a PRS Pre-Factory eagle on the headstock,which both pay homage to early PRS guitars.
While the guitar may look different, it boasts many of the Custom 24sbeloved features, including a mahogany back and neck, 25 scale length, 24frets, 10 fretboard radius, and Pattern Thin shape. Other classic Custom24 appointments include the PRS Gen III patented tremolo, PRS Phase IIIlocking tuners with wing buttons, and PRS Signature 10-46 strings. The 40thAnniversary Custom 24 Satin Limited Edition is equipped with PRSs DMOTreble and Bass pickups. DMO pickups (DMO standing for Dynamic, Musical,Open) were specd by Paul Reed Smith and the PRS New Products Engineering team to have a wide-open sound with vocal character. Paired with a 5-way blade switch, these pickups give players plenty of tonal range in theirdual octave package.
This commemorative run continues PRSs year-long 40th Anniversary celebration. Only 500 of this 40th Anniversary Custom 24 Satin Limited Edition will be available. Hand-signed 40th Anniversary certificate included.
