Description
This 1971 Martin D-18 is one of the better 70’s versions we’ve seen, and would make a fine instrument for a budding bluegrass picker or for anyone desiring to take afirst step into world of vintage guitars. Big, crisp, woody tone (as you’d expect from an old D-18), andvery easy-playing.
There’s no evidence of major repairs having been done (no signs of a neck reset, tuners look original, etc.). The pickguard was replaced and there is some pick wear around that area. It has the usual amount of finish crazing and a small gap along the back center seam where finish has shrunk, but the body iscrack free and solid! The set-up is greatwith excellent playability. The saddle is about as low as one can take it without performing a neck reset, but our sense is it’s been like this for a while and it’s done “settling in.” Priced with new hard case!
