Few guitars carry a story like Amos an original 1958 Gibson Flying V named after Amos Arthur, whose Indianapolis music shop first received the instrument from Gibson on May 29, 1958. Over the decades, Amos passed through the hands of Pete Mitchell of Ernest Tubbs band, landed with Norm Harris at Normans Rare Guitars, even made a cameo in This Is Spinal Tap before Joe Bonamassa finally brought it home nearly ten years ago. It remains one of his most played and most treasured instruments, featured regularly on stage and in the studio.
This is #8 of just 50 guitars produced for Gibsons Collectors Edition limited run, handcrafted by the Gibson Custom Shop and Murphy Lab in Nashville. Using 3D scanning technology and painstaking hand-aging techniques, every detail of the original has been replicated in molecular detail from the solid Korina body and Brazilian rosewood fretboard to the exact pattern of playing wear on the aged nitrocellulose finish. The custom-voiced Amos Custombucker pickups were designed to capture that signature balanced, barking tone that made the original famous. This is as close as youll ever get to holding the real thing.
