Condition Report

This ’58 LP is super clean! It shows extremely light signs of normal use with just a little bit of light hardware tarnishing. The imperfections to note are some spots where the aniline dye has bled into the binding, and some cracked knobs, both of which are common occurrences. It comes with its original hardshell case, too!

The True Historic line from the Gibson Custom Shop honors the legacy of some of the most sought after instruments on the planet, paying homage by replicating the finest details and nuances. From new plastics composed of the original vintage spec material, to the double carving of tops and necks to ensure vintage accurate profiles and dishing, these True Historic reissues are about as close as it gets to owning a real vintage instrument. But the eye for detail doesn’t stop there! A new finish process with time-intensive wet-sanding completes the package, delivering an instrument that looks, feels, and sounds authentic. Capped off with all hide glue construction and extensive setup process, the new True Historic line captures the essence of our favorite vintage pieces and creates a new era of golden age instruments just waiting to be discovered. Due to the time-intensive labor and old-world manufacturing processes, True Historic models are rare treats, and we are proud to showcase this beautiful example from 2015.
