This is a great-sounding A-style Eastman MD605 from back when Eastman was still using the symmetrical headstock design on their mandolins. It feels and sounds like its been well played over the last 15 years. The tone is big and punchy, with a chop that will easily cut through a bluegrass mix. The thin nitrocellulose lacquer finish really seems to let the instrument breathe, and the light checking adds to its character. All the wear is purely cosmetic with no structural issues to worry about. The radiused fingerboard and easy-playing action make it feel great all the way up the neck. If youre looking for a solid deal on a lively, well-broken-in bluegrass mandolin, this ones worth a close look. It comes with a Boulder gig bag.
