This Delphi Vintage Steel was built in 2005 in National Reso-Phonic’s San Luis Obispo workshop. It has a steel body with a rubbed finish, a 12-fret maple neck with an adjustable truss rod and a rosewood fretboard. It has it has rolled-edge f-holes and a ribbed sieve-hole resonator coverplate. This guitar is in excellent structural and cosmetic condition with just a bit of fret wear.
Steel body Nationals like this have a slightly sweeter, mellower tone than their brass body siblings like the Style O. Metal body instruments are very popular with guitarists who play bottleneck-style slide but musicians who play 1920s jazz, old-time country and jug band music find the Delphis powerful sound hard to resist.
