Essentially a heavily figured Heritage H-535 with a bound peghead and eagle inlay, this Limited Edition H-540 model captures all the best qualities of a finely-crafted Gibson ES, with a heavily figured curly maple semi-hollow body (maple centerblock), mahogany neck, bound rosewood fingerboard, and flame maple pickguard.
A direct descendant of Gibson, Heritage guitars are still handcrafted under the guidance of original Gibson employees at the Kalamazoo, Michigan factory. After Gibson left their original factory in 1984, their employees purchased it and have continued the legacy and pioneering spirit that defined Gibson’s golden age.
The pair of Schaller-made humbuckers are wound in the vein of a classic PAF, metering 7.4k ohms at the neck and 8.3k ohms at the bridge. Delivering the same warm lows, smooth trebles, and tailored midrange clarity characteristic of that original design, this guitar offers a broad range of tones from smooth bridge pickup growl and articulation to broad neck pickup girth.
