This is a 1983 Charvel guitar with a Candy Apple Red finish owned by one of our all-time favorites: the one and only Sammy Hagar. This guitar was originally built for Sammy in 1983 and later gifted to his guitar tech Randall “Zeke” Clark during his tenure in Van Halen. All of the documentation on the history of ownership of this Charvel is included in the case by its most recent owner: Mike Hickey – a guitar collecting and shredding legend in his own right!
The guitar is in great playing shape for an instrument that’s been toured on stages all around the world. There’s small chips and dings in the headstock paint and body. There’s an active EMG pickup with a pre-amp boost built in, and a factory-stock Kahler tremolo.
Sammy’s initials of S.H. are marked in the neck pocket along with a neck heel date of 4/13/83 and the initials of MG – standing for Charvel builder Mark Gellert.
The original case, tremolo arm, photos of Sammy with the guitar and letter of authenticity are all included with this awesome piece of Rock and Roll gear!
