An excellent example of the more affordable end of vintage Fender guitars, this 1976 Fender Stratocaster has a unique story, having been owned and used by Steve Dueker of Calfornia punk band the Popealopes. This guitar showcases many of the features that these ’70s made Fender instruments became known for. Constructed froma Maple neck an Alder body, and featuring the distinctive larger headstock that makes these guitars so recognisable.
This guitar is in good condition, with obvious signs ofplaywear to the finish on the back, sides and front of the body through years of gigging. The original pickups have been replaced, and a stacked bridge pickup have been added, giving a humbucker tone in the bridge via an added control switch. The original ‘F’ stamped tuners have been replaced, and a rather distinctive paisley pattern pick guard has been added. The tremolo has been replaced with a gold synchronised unitthat is smooth and holds tuning perfectly. The blonde finish appears original, and the guitar has been customised with a hand painted bird design on the lower contour.This guitar also includes a non original hard case, and an original Popealopes LP, concert stub ticket and some photos.
As with all our instruments, this guitarhas been given a full service and appraisal by our luthiers at the Vintage Instrument Workshop, and includes a 3 year warranty.
