Up for sale, a 1966 Mosrite Combo Bass in near-mint condition and in perfect working order, complete with the original hardshell case and hangtag. One of Mosrites more unique short scale models and essentially a semi-hollow iteration of the Joe Maphis, the Combo bass original production run was limited to 1966-68. This Mosrite bass was crafted in Bakersfield, CA, 100% original save for a replacement pickup selector switch (original included).
The semi-hollow maple body sports the iconic Mosrite German Carve, and the maple neck is capped by a bound rosewood fretboard. This Combo Bass has a notably resonant, full-bodied acoustic response, with a satisfying thud and thump akin to an upright bass, thanks in part to the 66-115 tapewound strings. The Mosrite single coils are hotly wound, with a bold-sounding neck pickup that yields thick growl, while the bridge pickup is more focused and mid-forward. The Sunburst gloss finish is 100% original, with one cosmetic split on the back thats only finish deep. There are a couple small dings along the lower bout perimeter, and some light finish scratches on the back shy of buckle rash. The gloss on the neck profile is flawless, save for an extra doweled strap button mounting hole.
The original hardshell case is included, along with the hangtag and the original pickup selector switch.
