Here we have an early L-C vintage acoustic guitar introduced for the “Century of Progress” exhibition in Chicago in 1933. The Century is a flat top acoustic instrument that features curly maple backand sides, a spruce top, mahogany neck, and pearloid fingerboard. This one is in good overall condition with quite a bit of play wear on the top and lacquer checking throughout. There are a few notable cracks in the body that have been addressed. It appears to havehad a neck set at some point and intonates just fine. The tuners and bridge appear original while the saddle, bridge pins and end pin are replacements. The guitar has a full neck shape with a soft V. Though these are considered more flashy than tonally complex with the pearloid board, the deep maple body offers a deep, bold and round tone with nice bass and treble frequencies present.
