An intensive 5-day PLUS (42.5 hours: 9 am – 6 pm) experience to build your own Flat top, Flat headstock guitar.
This course is designedas a great Introduction to Building Your Own Guitar.
Typical guitars built onthis courseinclude:
- Tele Style
- LP Junior single Cut Style
Students in this course should draw inspiration from Telecasters, Single Cut Les Paul Junior, or Precision Bass Guitars. The additional 5 hours on thisPLUSoptioncourse allow for some limited customisation such as an arm carve on a Tele-style build.
A Standard Week on the 5-day course:
- Day One Shape body, route neck, and truss rod cavity; slot, and glue on fretboard.
- Day TwoSand body, install frets, radius fretboard, carve neck first facet.
- Day Three Fretwork and a neck pocket.
- Day Four Routing body cavities and drilling holes for electronics etc. Fine sanding and flash coat.
- Day Five Wiring. Assembly. Set-up. Play!
This 5 Day PLUS Course entails8.5 hourswith coffee/tea and lunch breaks. Your day will begin at 9 am and end at 6 pm. You are welcome to come in 15 minutes before the day starts, but we cannot let students into the workshop before 8:45 due to health and safety reasons.
