This is a serious piece of musical equipment right here, a part of modern guitar history if you ask us! This is the first combo amp which Randall Smith ever made as part of Mesa/Boogie, stamped serial number 002 on the rear panel. According to the included authentication letter from Randall – he was supposed to withhold the serial 001 for sentimental reasons (who wouldn’t?) – but this never happened and thus serial 2002 is the first 1×12″ combo he ever built. The first digit indicating it was a guitar combo, not a bass head which was his first model of amplifier.
This is a single-channel amplifier with a master volume control and a single 12″ Altec speaker. The amplifier was recently serviced and had a new power cable installed. It sounds incredible and is a wonder to plug into and hear the fidelity. It’s no wonder that with a start like this, Mesa/Boogie has grown into the powerhouse company it is today.
