Small, light, and moderately powered, the Princeton Reverb has been a long-time recording and gigging favorite (Clarence White, Tommy Tedesco, the Beach Boys, Duane Allman, and Jim Campilongo have all put a PR to good use, to name a few).
In 1968, the Princeton Reverb underwent a facelift – a silver and turquoise front panel with aluminum grille pipping – though the tone, vibe, and feel remained pure Fender. The ’68 Custom PR Reissue also has a modified tone circuit for greater flexibility w/pedals and reduced negative feedback for greater touch sensitivity and quicker breakup.
What can we say, we’re huge fans of this highly sought after 12-watt classic. The perfect grab-and-go? Just might be.

T
he Fender Princeton Reverb resides in the upper echelon of all-time classic tube combo amps. One of the most recorded amps in music history, the Princeton is a mainstay in recording studios everywhere. Prized for its ability to be completely cranked without literally bringing down the house, making it the go-to amplifier in situations where the bigger 6L6 Amps would be far too loud. The Princeton Reverb features a rectifier tube that tames the pair of 6V6’s, bringing the overall power down to a very manageable 12-watts. With a tube driven Reverb/Tremolo section the tones produced sound much more organic and open. If you are looking for the classic vintage tones of a Fender Amplifier without the monumental weight and power of a Twin Reverb or a Bassman then the Princeton Reverb is the answer.
