What a beautiful Special 22 we’ve received with the Fire Smokeburst Finish! This finish really brings out the best in this beautiful flame-top. We’re also unanimous about the sound: amazing!
About the Special 22 model
The foundation of the Special 22 Semi-Hollow is the classic Custom 22 model. That means: a maple top with a mahogany body and neck, a 25″ scale length, and of course, a reliable and excellently functioning PRS Patented Gen III Tremolo system. The pickups are also top notch, as this Special 22 is equipped with 58/15LT pickups in the bridge and neck positions with split-coil capabilities on both humbuckers. Unlike the “normal” Custom 22, the Special 22 offers the option of splitting both humbuckers individually for a beautiful, clear single-coil sound. To top it all off, the Special 22 Semi-Hollow is equipped with a Narrowfield middle pickup, allowing you to conjure up very beautiful Strat-like sounds in the so-called in-between positions (positions 2 and 4).
