The Epiphone ’58 Korina Explorer sports a Korina body, mahogany neck, rosewood fretboard, and Alnico Classic humbucking pickups to make for an affordable reissue to one of the most valuable vintage Gibson guitars.
This model is virtually indistinguishable from thelaminated Mahogany/Alder modelthat began at the same time, with the only difference being the body wood. Both models were offered in black Ebony finish, adding to the confusion, but the laminated models came in Red and Alpine white, which were not available finishes for the Korina model.
This specimen comes in hard shell case, and sports some mods, that are easily reversable. The neck pickup is P90 and on the bridge position there is alnico humbucker. The original pickups with golden (not real though 😉 covers come with the guitar.
The pickup selector is located where the second tone pot is, and the hole in the pickguard has been pdded with a button. Yes. A button.
Besides the tone pot, all the necessary parts come with the guitar to make it original again.
