Get an All-in-One Unit That Will Take Your Sequencing to the Next Level The Arturia BeatStep Pro Controller
The Arturia BeatStep Pro is designed from the ground up to provide an exceptional hands-on sequencing experience. It features 16 touch-sensitive knobs for entering pitch, gate, velocity, and timing shifts per step. With two independent color-coded monophonic step sequencers, each offers dedicated displays showing playback position and sequence length. Both SEQUENCER 1 and SEQUENCER 2 support up to 64 steps per sequence, 16 sequences per project, and 16 projectsmaking BeatStep Pro one of the most powerful step sequencers ever made.
- Transport: Send MIDI Machine Control messages to start and stop your DAW. Record mode lets you enter sequences or drum patterns in real time.
- Trans Link/Prst Link: Link sequence or transposition changes so all sequencers update simultaneously.
- Swing & Randomizer: Set swing per sequencer or globally. Add pattern variation with Randomness and Probability controls.
- Display: Shows tempo or parameter values; edit using the encoder. Tap tempo or toggle metronome with the gray button.
- Sync Mode: Choose internal clock or slave to DAW, external MIDI clock, or analog/DIN sync.
- Sequence Control: Select sequences independently, set knob mode, and mute/unmute tracks.
- Project/Control Mode: Choose one of 16 projects or enter Control Mode from this section.
- Touch-Sensitive Knobs: Touch a knob to view its value before editing; use knobs to set pitch, gate, velocity, and timing shifts.
- Step Buttons: Enable/disable steps during playback or select presets for the current sequencer.
- Pressure-Sensitive Pads: Play sounds in Control or Drum mode and transpose sequences on the fly.
- CV/Gate Outputs: 1 V/oct CV and 10 V Gate outputs plus Velocity output for modular control or MiniBrute/MicroBrute synths.
- Drum Gates: Trigger external device
Each sequencer includes its own 1V/Oct CV (Control Voltage) and 10V Gate outputs to connect to analog monosynths such as Arturias MiniBrute or MicroBrute. A separate Velocity output further expands modular synth possibilities.
An additional Drum Sequencer offers 16 tracks of sequencing. Record in quantized real time with the 16 pressure-sensitive pads or use the 16 step buttons for classic drum-machine workflow. In SEQ1 and SEQ2 modes, the pads can transpose pitch and access musical scales such as Chromatic, Major, Minor, Dorian, Mixolydian, Harm Minor, Blues, and User. The Drum Sequencer also provides eight drum gates for triggering external devicesallowing drums and melodic sequences to live in perfect harmony.
BeatStep Pro also functions as a controller. Switching from Project to Control Mode lets you trigger clips in your DAW, play external drum modules, or adjust plug-in parameters. Its flexibility is virtually unlimitedonly your imagination sets the boundaries.
The sleek, performance-oriented BeatStep Pro goes far beyond traditional sequencers thanks to real-time Roller/Looper touch-strip control, Probability, Randomness, and Swing settings, plus numerous hands-on performance tools. It even includes a Kensington lock to ensure it stays safe with its rightful owner.
