Mike teaches precision bottleneck techniques designed to broaden your repertoire, textures, and rhythms. He starts with “Make Me a Pallet on Your Floor” which uses a rhumba beat in open G. His funky “Drop Down Mama” is a fantastic lesson in syncopation and groove. From there it’s D minor tuning for a haunting version of “The Cuckoo,” then D tuning and his own “Street Corner Rag,” a bottleneck tour-de-force.
